X Tea For Bride-Elect Smith-Layton Bamberg, Aug. 23.—Of interest to relatives and friends in South Carolina and Georgia is the an nouncement of the marriage of Miss Sarah Louise Smith, of Bam berg, and Sergeant Floyd L. (“Tub by”) Layton, United States army medical corps, which occurred Sunday afternoon, August 19, at Trinity Methodist church. Rev. S. M. Atkinson, pastor of the bride, performed the ceremony, using the double ring ritual in the presence of the immediate family of the bride and a few close friends. Preceding the rites, Mrs. E. R. Cooner, church organist, rendered a short musical program, and as she played Lohengrin’s “Wedding March” the couple approached the altar unattended. On the occasion the bride chose for her wedding a striking early fall dress of light blue wool with black accessories. Her flowers were a shoulder cor sage of bride’s roses and white gladioli buds. The bride is the attractive daughter of Mrs. Grady Smith and the late Mr. Smith, of Bamberg. She was born and reared in Mc Cormick, coming to Bamberg a few years ago with her parents, Notice For Bids For Transportation Pupils Sealed bids will be received un til 12:00 o’clock noon, Septemb"* 1, 1945, for the transportation ry pupils from the following school districts: Willington School District No. 2 to De la Howe State School.
