Cowan of the Bellvue community was a visitor here Fri day. Miss Sara Frances Duncan has returned to her home here from Schroon Lake, N. Y., where she worked during the summer. Little Miss Sandra Creswell, daughter of Pvt. and Mrs. E. Leon ard Creswell, who are now station ed in Toledo, Ohio, spent a few days recently with her brother, Ronnie, in Edgefield Co. Mrs. J. M. Kennedy of Birming ham, Ala., visited in the home of Mrs. Douglass Haggard the past week. Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Giles spent the week with their son, Mr. Thomas Giles, and Mrs. Giles, in Charleston. Miss Doris Sue Chamberlain left last Wednesday to enter U. S. Na val Training School, N. Y. Mrs. Thomas H. Gooding spent the week end in Hampton, where she attended the wedding of Miss Louise Gooding and Sergeant Arlie Grand. Mrs. R. A. Christie of Edgefield, Mr. and Mrs. Artell Temple and children of Savannah, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Christie of Johnston, Cpl. Henry B. Christie of Camp Chaffee, Ark., were visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Young of near town Sunday af ternoon. Misses Rose Marie, Jean Linda and Nancy Creswell Spent a few days recently in the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Creswell. has accepted the position of math ematics teacher in the North High School. Mrs. John Morrah, Jr., of Ware Shoals spent the week end in the Bellvue community. Mrs.'Edwin Grauer, who is with her mother, Mrs. R. H. Talbert, while her hsuband is overseas, had as her guests last week end, her mother in law, Mrs. Carolyn Grauer, and sister in law, Miss Carolyn Grauer, of New York City. Mrs. Gray Abercrombie and daughter, Robbie Frances, spent several days the past week in the home of Mr. Austin Abercrombie. Lt. Gray Abercrombie is stationed at Learsport, Maine. Miss Kay Kean of Birmingham, Ala., visited her aunt, Mrs. Doug lass Haggard, last week. Miss Martha Harper of Lowndes- ville is visiting in the home of Misses Rebecca and Mary Jane Morrah. Miss Rubye Abercrombie visited friends in Leesville recently. She has resigned * her work in the Leesville Elementary School and Lt. Audley H. McCain, U. S. N., and Mrs. McCain, were recent vis itors here with Mrs. Fannie Kate McCain. Mrs. D. V. Cason and three sons of Waycross, Ga., visited Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Huguley here Monday and Tuesday. Coleman, producton chairman of the local chapter of the American Red Cross, asks that all who have unfinished overseas kit-bags, please get them ready and to her immediately. She is anxious to make her last ship ment this week, if possible. Sgt. Ralph M. Dorn of Fort Bragg, N. C., spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Dorn. Miss Dorothy Piueffier of Spar tanburg spent several days here last week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sharpton. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Campbell and son, Albert, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell and baby of Ware Shoals spent several days last week in the mountians of North Carolina. Mrs. T. E. Snelling and two daughters, Misses Amie Ann and Marie, of Charlotte, N. C., spent week before last with Mrs. W. G. Blackwell. Dr. S. W. Beech, Green wood. Mrs. Heskett is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Rankin of Aiken. She is now employed at the Aiken Preparatory School af ter having worked as financial secretary for several years in At lanta, Ga. Prior to that she at tended the Universiy of South Car olina with music as chief interest and activity. The bridegroom, now stationed at Daniel Field, Augusta, Ga., is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude B. Heskett of Pioneer Place, Byes- ville. Ohio. He is a graduate of Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Before his enlistment in the Army he taught Social Science in the public schools of Circle- ville, Ohio, and prior to that toured the country with the Pioneer Play ers in “Freedom on the March.” At present they are at home in Aiken.
