HARPER f Jesus Feeds the Multitude. Lesson for February 6: Mark 6: 36-52; 8:1-10. 1 Golden Text: John 6:35. When Jesus took ship for a period of reriu in some sequestered spot on Galilee, he could not be hid. Around the sea on foot the multitude followed J.esus. Think of that multitude in need, and think of thousands in need today! Toward evening, after Jesus had preached and ministered to the people, the disciples came, askfhg Jesus to send the people away—to get food. It did not worry the disciples that several thousand might not find enough food in the villages near. Trying to “pass the buck” and shift the responsibility, they were ready tc “call it a day.” They said, “Th'' day is now far spent.” But should the disciples of. Jesus ever be ready to “call it a day” whe: there are still souls in need? Notwithstanding the miraclf they had seen, the disciples feared that night when they saw Jesus coming unto them on the water, supposing they saw f ghost.
