mums and ferns. Miss Furqueron
gave her honor guest a beautiful
plaque.

Miss Rebecca Drucker, attractive
bride-elect, was entertained in a
most delightful way recently by

Broad St., Augusta, Ga.
A profusion of fall flowers were
used in the spacious living room
where four tables were arranged
for bridge. After the game the
guests were invited into the din
ing room where a color scheme of
pink and white predominated. The
beautifully appointed lace covered
table had in the center a minia
ture bridal party in perfect ar
rangement.
Following a course of dainty
sweets, Miss Drucker was given a
large package which contained a
“shower” of articles for her kitch
en.

High lighting the social activi
ties here for the past week was
the delightful party given by Mrs.
Catherine Padgett and Mrs. R. S.
Truluck Saturday afternoon, an
nouncing the engagement of their
cousin. Miss Anna Elise Furqueron,
and Dr. John Burman Bowen,
whose wedding is to be solemnized
December 19. in the McCormick
Baptist church.
Ten tables were arranged for
bridge and when tallies were given
out, puzzle-pop packages attached
to them, carried the news.
Miss Furqueron was given a
beautiful bride’s book and Miss
Rebecca Drucker, another bride-
elect of December, was also re
membered with a lovely gift.
Assisted by their mother, Mrs.
Jack Scruggs, the hostesses served
a tempting salad course with
Russian tea. (
Out of town guests were Misst

young woman of an unassuming
sweet disposition and outstanding
traits, and is admired by her
many friends throughout the
state.
Mr. Jennings, the son of Mrs.
Sudie Holloway Jennings and the
late William Thomas Jennings of
McCormick, was educated in the
city schools and for the past five
years has been connected with the
Forestry Service at Bradley, South
Carolina.
After January the first the
young* couple will make their
home at Spartanburg, S. C., where
the groom has recently accepted
a position.

Mrs. Bradley is the youngest
daughter of her parents. She re

mick High School and Lander
College, Greenwood, S. C. She
was a member of the Pi Sigma
Phi Sorority, and was active in

Mr. Bradley is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack L. Bradley. He is
a graduate of The Citadel, Char
leston, S. C., in the class of 1940,
where he received his B. S. Degree
in Business Administration. He
received his commission as Second
Lieutenant in the Coast Artillery
Reserve on July 17th, 1940.
The couple will make their
home at Fort Bragg, North Caro
lina, where Lieutenant Bradley
has been assigned for active duty.
