The meeting Was opened in reg ular form by the master. The grange was lowered to 4th degree in order that 4th' degree members could come into the meeting. A very good report from Mt. Carmel Grange was read by secre tary. Greetings from the National Grange master was read by Hon. W. J. Byan Dorn. A letter from State Master D. B. Anderson was read by Master White. During the business hour Mrs. J. J. White suggested that a group of grange members meet with the legislature one day to observe. This suggestion was left under consideration until the Jan. meet ing of the Pamona grange.. One member from each subordinate grange was appointed to bring this matter up in their grange" Mrs. J. J. NEW 1940-1941 MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSES MUST BE PURCHASED BEFORE OCTOBER 31, 1940 TO AVOID PENALTY AND DELAY The 1939-1940 licenses expire October 31, 1940. Application for 1940-1941 motor vehicle licenses should be madp IMMEDIATELY to avoid unnecessary delay in re ceiving 1940-1941 license plates, and to avoid the possihility of paying a penalty. New 1940-1941 license plates, according to law, MUST BE DISPLAYED ON NO VEMBER 1, 1940. Licenses for privately operated passenger cars, and trucks and, semi-trailers up to and including 2% tons load capacity, can be issued only on an annual basis. When ordering a license for trucks and semi-trailers, the weight of each vehicle unloaded must be shown before license can be issued. Motor vehicles purchased on or after October 22, 1940, may be licensed for 1940-1941 without paymeift of a 1939-1940 fee. Owners of motor vehicles purchased and operated prior to October 22, 1940, must first pay such 1939-1940 fee as may be due: If you did not receive your ap plication card, advise the Department immediately, giving your name, correct ad dress and the make, type and motor number of your vehicle. 7 On all applications for license both renewal applications and applications for new vehicles—the school district number of the applicant must be shown before license can be issued. After the election of officers Master White read the State Grange program, then Mount Carmel invited the Pamona Grange to meet at Mt. Carmel in January. A motion was made and carried for the Pamona Grange to pay five dollars on Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Pettigrew’s expenses 1 to the State Grange meeting.
