Davis and family of Laurens spent the day recently with Mr. Austin Abercrombie and family. The McCormick Lions Club held its regular meeting Tuesday night. Two members made very fine talks, Lion E. F. Gettys and Lion Bill Coleman. After the meal was served, Lion Pres. Garvis Taylor, opened the business session of the meeting, and the entire club was given different things to do in regard to the Hallowe’en Carnival that will be at the community house, Oct. 31. W. Reid, officiating. Vows were spoken in a dignified setting of bridal white and green. Tall white baskets of white cry- santhemums and gladioli were used at intervals in the altar banking of palms, smilax and lacy bamboo. Cathedral candelabra holding white tapers encircled the altar arrangements. Preceding the ceremony a pro gram of nuptial itu^sip was ren dered by Mrs. Jennings, of Columbia, pianist, Mrs. Scott C. Strohecker, of Columbia, vocalist, and Mrs. Lloyd Hendrix, of De la Howe, violinist. Mrs. Strohecker sang “I Love You Truly” and “All For You” and Mrs. Hendrix played “Ah Sweet Mystery Of Life” and “Liebe- straum”. The traditional wedding marches were used. The bride was lovely in her white satin basque fashioned with sweet-heart neckline leg ’o mutton sleeves and hoop skirt. Her veil was draped into an old fashioned bonnett and fell over the face and to fingertip length over the shoulders. She carried a colonial nosegay of white gardenias and valley lilies tied with narrow white satin ribbon. She was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, W. L. Krell, of Columbia. Miss Florene Krell of Columbia, Mrs. J. Mikell Leland of Witherbee and Miss Mary Jane Morrah were bridesmaids. Mrs. W. L. Krell of Columbia, was matron of honor and Miss Katrina Morrah, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. They wore white faille taffeta gowns fashioned with dropped shoulders, basque waists and hoop- skirts, and carried colonial nose gays of red roses and white bon bon crysanthemums tied with red satin ribbons. The groom was attended by his brother, Holliday Bryan, of Allen dale, as best man. Ushers were: H. G. Bryan, of Johnsonville, George Norman Bry an, student at Presbyterian Col lege, Clinton; Flemming Chavis, of Allendale; W. L. Wofford, of Laurens, and Pierce Riley, of Florence. Abercrombie entertained Miss Morrah and Mr. Bryan with members of the bridal party and their guests with a turkey dinner served bouffet style at their home near Bordeaux. Giant pink dalhias and white gladioli were used in the spacious rooms where the guests assembled. On Tuesday afternoon of last week Miss Morrah was delightfully entertained by Miss Mary Jane Morrah and Mrs. J. Mikell Leland at the home of Mrs. T. Lee Ed munds. When Miss Frances Strom had won the game a messenger boy appeared and presented the honoree a “shower” of lovely and useful gifts. M. Dorn won first place. In a beautifully worded poem Mrs. Thos. Giles expressed the love and best wishes of the Y. W. A. to Miss Strom who is to be mar ried Saturday in New York City, and directed her into the dining room where a “shower” of linen gifts for her was placed. Morrah, of Mc Cormick. She attended Winthrop College after graduating from the McCormick High School. She is connected widely by a well known family long prominent in the af fairs of this section and the couple has a wide circle of friends throughout the State. Mr. Bryan is the son of Mrs. H. G.
