The Annual Meeting of the State 4-H Council will also beheld there on July 26th. Thus three important state wide meetings of vital interest to farm people will be held during the week. The State Short Course, whose theme is “Working Together For Profit,” will run July 23rd-25th. A full three days is planned with lectures beginning at 8:30 each morning. Speaking cm the pro gram will be Mr. Edgar Burtis and Dr. England of the Bureau'of Ag ricultural Economics, U. S. D. A.; Mr. Malcolm Taylor, Professor of Marketing, University of N. C.; J. C. Snow, Extension Meat Special ist of the University of Tennessee; M. G. Mann of the N. C. Farmers Exchange, and Mr. Foster of the Farm Credit Administration of Columbia, S. C. A Forum on Co operative Marketing will be held by George Prince and a group of men representing the Peach Growers Association, the Live Stock Association, the Home Dem onstration Club Market Associa tion. A panel discussion on Marketing Activities in the state will also be held by J. E. Durant of the S. C. Sweet Potato Association, Mrs. J. C. Campbell of N. C. and Mr. Mitchell of the Walterboro Auction Market. Each day from 12:00 to 1:00 o’clock there will be a general assembly period with an address by an outstanding speaker. Also each day there will be a period on Music Appreciation and Group Singing led by Mrs. S. O. Plowden. During the afternoons tours will be made to the Turkey Farm at Clover, S. C., and to the Wlnthrop College Farm. Evening programs will include a moving picture show in the college j auditorium, a violin concert by Miss Caroline Glenn of Chester, the opening of the State Council of Farm Women, with reception, and the 4-H Wheel of Progress, featuring the Spirit of America. Daily broadcasts will be made from WBT, Charlotte, from 1:45 to 2:00 p. m. by selected groups attending the Short Course—and a daily neWs sheet will be pub lished for those attending the Short Course and Council Meet ings. tXt State 4-H Council To Hold Annual Meeting AT WINTHROP COLLEGE JULY 26TH. The State 4-H Council will hold its fourth Annual Meeting at Win- throp College, July 26th during the Annual State Short Course being held there that week. The theme of the meeting this year is “America For Me.” Following this thought the speaker on the noon program will be Mr. Salqm Rizk—the Syrian American, -sponsored by the Reader’s Digest, who will talk on the “Americanization of an Amer ican.” Mr. Rizk’s address is said to be a splendid inspiration for good citizenship and an outstand ing lesson in Americanization. Other features of the day ’ will be the presentation of the Trophy from the State Council of Farm Women to the outstanding 4-H Council; a Forum Discussion on Council Progress led by Leon Clayton and Miss Bessie Harper; Community singing led by Mrs S. This law has the fol lowing provision in reference to fishing: Use of seines, nets or traps- Catch Fish.—It shall be unlawful to use seines, nets, baskets or traps for the catching of fish in any back waters caused by the damming of any running stream in said Zone; and it shall be un lawful to use a seine, with mesh smaller than one and one-quarter (1 1-4) inches square for the catching of fish in any of the waters in said Zone. A futher provision of the law carries a punishment in case of conviction. It is understood that the Game & Fish Association of the three counties of Laurens, Newberry, and Greenwood are going to use every effort to have this law enforced.
