Persons an nounces that his sermon subject at the Baptist Church here next Sunday morning at 11:00 o’clock will be “Merry Christmas.” There will be no Training Union meet ing that evening. Williams and family of Bethany were guests at a turkey dinner Sunday at the home of Mrs. Eva Langley of Ab- heville. her as being the .winner of the grand champion cUp in a baby contest sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion of Greenwood. This cup was a- warded for health, beauty and popularity. She is the 21 months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orien H. Bryan. Her mother will be remembered as the former Miss Louise Smith of McCormick. The friends of Mrs. Sue Brack nell will be glad to know she is home again after being a patient in Greenwood Hospital the past ten days. Mrs. J. J. Dorn will attend the world premier of “Gone With The Wind” in Atlanta Thursday, while on a visit to her daughter. Mrs. Thomas R. Reeder, and Mr. Reeder. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Johnson and children of Denmark and Miss Gertrude Campbell and nephews, Russell and Bobby Mitchum of Smoaks were guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Epting, Mrs. Leon Traylor, Mr. Ansel Talbert, Mrs. J. S. Dukes, Miss Marie Sharpton, Miss Lease Forest and Miss Miriam McKinney have been ill with flu this week. Mrs. E. L. Rogers spent last week end in Spartanburg with relatives. Mr. P. B. Moragne of Bordeaux was a visitor here Saturday.
