Car mel, is a member of the Bond Volunteers, crack junior drill pla toon at The Citadel, Charleston, The Military College of South Carolina. Members of this pla toon are chosen as a result of competitive drill examinations. This organization along with the* Summerall Guards, the senior drill platoon, puts on exhibition drills between halves of all foot ball games played by The Citadel in Charleston, and at several of the games played away. Truluck and two children came down Saturday from Spartanburg for a visit to Mrs. Truluck’s parents, Capt. and Mrs. Jack Scruggs. Mr. Truluck returned to Spartanburg Sunday, while Mrs. Truluck and the two children remained for a longer visit. Mr. J. R. Watkins of the Bellvue community was among the visi tors here Monday. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Moragne two daughters, Misses Mabel Carolyn Moragne, and Mr. Mrs. Parker Herndon and sons, Masters William Lee Jack Herndon, of Augusta, visited relatives and friends and at Bordeaux Sunday. Mr. J. O. Patterson, who under went an operation on his throat at a hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., on Monday of last week, continues to improve satisfactorily. Mr. James W. Murray of Wash ington, D. C., is spending a few days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reeves of Batesburg announce the birth of a son, Harold, Jr., on Monday, ! November 13th. x W illiams-Kinney Of cordial interest is the an nouncement of the marriage of Miss Ruth Elizabeth Williams and ! Joseph Warren Kinney, Jr., on November 9th at Del Ray Beach, Fla. The ring ceremony was per formed by the Rev. Willis McFad- den, pastor of the Del Ray Presby terian Church in the study of the manse at six o’clock in the evening in the presence of close friends of the young couple. The bride wore a becoming cos tume suit of gray wool with black accessories and her flowers were a shoulder corsage of sweetheart rosebuds and valley lilies. Mrs. Kinney is a daughter of Mrs Maude Crawley Williams of Mc Cormick and the late Foster E. Williams. Her maternal grand father was the late W. J. Crawley of Barnwell County who served as a Lieutenant Colonel in Holcombe’s Legion in the Confederate Army ' and was a graduate of the class of 1 1855 at The Citadel, Charleston. Mrs. Kinney is a graduate of Mc Cormick High School, Wilhenford School of Nursing, Augusta, Ga.; and did post graduate work at Emory University, Atlanta. For the past five years she has been assistant superintendent of nurses at Emory University Hospital. The bridegroom is a son of Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Kinney of Fort Valley, Ga. He is a graduate of Fort Valley High School and of Mercer University, Macon, Ga., where he was prominently identi fied with all college activities. For several years he has been manager of the Coca Cola Com pany at West Palm Beach, Fla.
