Sibert of Sumter is spending this week here with relatives. Mr. James H. Talbert of Spar tanburg spent Sunday with rela tives in and near town. Wedding Of Miss Robinson \ v And Mr. Price Is Announced A marriage of the most cordial interest throughout the State is announced by the father of the bride, who before her marriage to William B. Price of Greenville was Miss Frances Cook Robinson of McCormick. Both bride and bridegroom, members of prominent South Carolina families, have scores of friends throughout the state to whom the marriage is of social prominence. The formal announcement fol lows: Mr. Paul J. Robinson announces the marriage of his daughter Frances Cook to Mr. William Baker Price on Saturday, the twentieth of November nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, Gaffney, South Carolina. Miss Robinson is the only daughter of Paul J. Robinson and the late Alla Lee Smith Robinson. She was born and reared in Mc Cormick and for the last four years has attended Greenville Woman’s college of Furman uni versity, graduating in the class of 1938. For the last two years she has made the dean’s list and dur ing her college career she was active in all college activities. She is a great niece of Dr. H. T. Cook, the oldest living alumnus of Fur- \ man university and professor emeritus of Greek and Ancient History of the institution. She is also a niece of F. C. Robinson, former graduate of Furman uni versity and now secretary of the South Carolina Sinking Fund Commission, Columbia. Mr. Price is the second son of James H. Price, prominent attor ney of Greenville, and Mrs. Price. He attended the public schools of that city and for the past four years attended Furman university, finishing in the class of 1938. For three years he was a member of the Bonhomie staff, a member of the Student Legislature, president of the Junior Pan-Hellenic council and treasurer of the Senior Pan- Hellenic Council. He was also an ! active member of Beta Kappa so cial fraternity. Mr. and Mrs. Price will be at home for the present in McCor mick. xx Hail Damages Crops A hail storm damaged crops in a small area of McCormick Coun ty near the Abbeville County line Friday afternoon, June 17th. To bacco on the farm of R. H. Petti grew was severely damaged. Cot ton and corn crops were only partially destroyed. The farmers seemed to think the normal pro duction of their cotton and corn crop would not be seriously af fected from the hail damage. The farms within the hail area are C. E. Simpson, R. H.
