Rush and daughter, Miss Mat- tie Eliza Rush, of Greenwood were visitors in the home of Mr. D. T. LaGroon of near town during the Christmas holidays. Visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Titus of Knox ville, Tenn., have returned home, after spending the Christmas holi days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Corley. Mr. F. W. Corley of Aiken spent the Christmas holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Corley. Mr. and Mrs. T. Howard Smith from Andrews spent Christmas here with his mother, Mrs. R. L. Smith. Miss Bettye Walker left Sunday to take up her studies in the Nurses Training School at the Leesville Infirmary. Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Gilbert and daughters, Mary Frances and Ramona, have returned to their home at Pendergrass, Ga., after spending the holidays in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Charles Talbert, of Sandover. Majcr Tillman Sharpton, who has recently returned from the Philippine Islands, now stationed at Letterman’s General Hospital in San Francisco, Calif., spent the Christmas holidays with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Sharpton, cf Clarks Hill. Mrs. Maggie Holliday Bullock and daughter, Miss Mildred Holliday, of Greenwood, spent several days here last week as guests of Mrs. Carrie Talbert. Bowick announce the marriage of their daughter Josephine to Mr. Jarvis Eldred Duffie on Sunday the twenty second of November nineteen hundred and thirty-six Anderson, South Carolina Of interest to their many friends is the marriage of Miss Josephine Bowick, of McCormick, to Mr. Jar vis Eldred Duffie, of Greenwood, which took place Sunday after noon, November 22, at 4 o’clock, at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. W. M. Seay, of Anderson. The impressive ring ceremony was used, with a few of the inti mate friends of the contracting parties witnessing the ceremony. Mrs. Duffie is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Bo wick, of McCormick. She is a grad uate of McCormick High School, also of Thorson College of Beauty Culture, Columbia, S. C. Mr. Duffie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Duffie, of Greenwood. He was a member of the ’34 grad uating class of Greenwood High School and later attended Coyne Electrical and Radio School, Chica go. He is now connected with C. H. Camp Radio company in Green wood. The young couple are at home to their friends at 147 Watson Court, Greenwood. J. B.
