Arch Talbert, who was in jured in an automobile accident Tuesday of last week, returned home Sunday from the Greenwood Hospital and continues to improve satisfactorily. Mrs. S. J. Marsh of Au gusta spent one day Here the past I week with his sister, Mrs. Fannie Kate McCain. 4 Escape Death As Machine Overturns Mrs. Harriett F. Johnson, State Girls’ 4-H Club Leader, from Rock Hill, spent Friday here with Miss Elnita Harvey, Home Demonstra tion Afjrent for McCormick County. Mrs. W. C. Strom, who has been sick for the past ten days, is some what better. Messrs. Joseph P. Holloway and T. W. Jeryiings were business visi tors in Harlem and Augusta, Ga., Fuesday. Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Connor and shildren from Greenville spent the veek end with relatives here. Friends of Mrs. Marvin Smoak, of Bamberg, formerly Miss Kat? Price of this city, are glad to learn that she is improving, after under going an operation at the Colum bia hospital March 3th. Mr. A. C. Bradshaw of Parksville was a business visitor here one day the past week. Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Talbert and daughter, Miss Miriam, of Augusta, spent the week end with relatives in and near town. Mrs. Mary J. Bell, wher has been ill at her home here the past week, is somewhat better at this time. Mrs. J. J. Minarik, Mrs. Annie lyan, Mr. J. E. Ryan and Mr. J. M. tich of Meriwether were visitors iere Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Guilford Newby of Trenton, Fla., are visiting relatives in and near town. Mrs. J. L. Traynham and Mrs. ,uther Pruitt of Honea Path spent he past week here with the for-. Mr. D. P. McCain spent a couple of days this week in Atlanta, buy ing mules for the local market. Mr. Bryan Jennings returned to Ridge Springs yesterday, after Mr. J. O. Patterson, city clerk; Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Fannie Kate McCain and Mrs. C. K. Epting had a narrow escape Wednesday after noon of last week when the car in which they were riding suddenly left the Edgefield-Augusta highway between the two cities and over turned in a ditch. No on could ex plain how the accident happened.
