After spending a week here with her sister, Mrs. A. J. Andrews, Mrs. Mamie Smith has returned to her home at Evans, Ga. ' Messrs. Emmette and Calhoun Sandifer visited friends in Au gusta and Waynesboro, Ga., one day recently. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Strom are spending ten days in the North Carolina mountains. Friends of Mr. W. E. Whitman Smith, president, has written a letter to each club chairman stressing the importance of voting and selecting candidates best fitted to aid the counties and state. A part of Mrs. Smith’s letter follows: “First, we feel that the duty of • our citizenship chairman at this ,time is. ^o get our club women to : enroll and then to follow that up iby using their voting privilege in the coming primaries. Wouldn’t it be a great thing if we could vote 100 per cent strong for men who will make our state a better state? Will you write all of your club chairmen on citizenship to write each member as she comes to the next club meeting to come by the enrollment booth and enroll? Or, better still, give that meeting over to inviting them into cars and tak ing a ride over to the club rolls. Then, on tflecion day charter the school bus! Be sure to let the state citizenship chairman know how many voted. Secondly, your duty is to find out how the candidates for office stand on our state council legislative pro gram. Report this to all the club women. The legislative program is as follows: The compulsory school law.
