Magistrate Chappell sent to the chain gang for 30 days on the 16th, Jim j Smith, charged with injuring property by throwing a rock through window glass of a house belonging to Mr. Huff. The same day he sent Ed Boyd to the gang for 30 days for violating contract, and on the 18th he sent Johxn Kelly to the gang for 30 days for petit larceny, also Gus Guyhon for 30 days for violat ing contract, also Will Moore for 30 days for petit larceny. The negro saw the tracks and thought anr it was the tracks of a turtle, followed athe tracks and found an alligator in a hole at the stream. The negro shot at the gator and that enraged the animal, and it untook to fight. The negro suc 'ceeded in killing it with a stick.
