Will give an Easter egg hunt Satur
day afternoon, Easter Eve -it 4 o'clock

Mr.g Baxter Re-elected.
The county board of control held a I
meeting yesterday morning for the pur
powe of electing a beer dipenser for an
other year. Mr. Baxter, who has been
running the beer dispensary for several
years, was re-elected. Mr. Baxter has
made a good manager of the beer dispen- C
sary-keeping an orderly place of busi- I
ness, and his selection could not be im
pwoved on.
Looking for the Bodies.

Sunday several hundred people were
on the banks of Saluda river near Mc
Nry's ferry, looking for the bodies of
the negroes that were drowned there
last Wednesday. Neither of the bodies
has yet been recovered. Several
4ynamites were exploded, but the
bodies did Dot come up. Searching F
purties are still looking for them. r

Deputy Sheriff Johnson came into''
town Monday morning considerably
banged up. He had gone up to spend
Sunday witb his father, and Sunday
night while returning from a visit

place, his horse shied and threw him.

Mr. J. N. Reeder, who was agent for
the Southern Railroad for three years at
Old Town, S. C., giving good service to I
the company, and was promoted as cash-1
ier in Southern depot at Union, S. C.,
for two years, was elected bookkeeper
and assistant cashier (in a new bank of
Union, S. C.) over twenty other applica
tions. -
This was done without Mr. Reeder
knowing anythiug whatever about the
-matter. Mr. Reeder deserves much
.credit. However he didn't accept the
position as offered and is in the general
