The Collego Boys Fairly Walked Ot Witla the Tow,, Koys-Those Who aaw tho UAnnao Were Aimsedt. The game of baseball between the Newberry College nine and the picked up nino fr-om1 town, Wednesday after noon, was as we stated that it would be, one of the most amusing and Interest ing games of the season. There was a large crowd of spectators out to witness the game and thoso who went to see it d id not regret it. Considering tle fact that the boys fron town have not played a game in two or three yea ", have had no prac tice whatever this season, picked up at random in the town, in some cases playing with ungloved hands and with out a Mniform, in gitizen's apparel, going up against a regularly organized, equipped and practiced inter collegiate team, they did remarkably well-even in the score of ,;9 to 10, in seven Innings. They ought to have been shut out, its many thought they would. There were many features of the game that were amusing in the ox tremte, but. our space is too limited to d well on the game, and the merits and deierits of the player. Suffice it to say, that with a little practice, the town boys would make it mighty warm for the college boys in a match game. '1'he game was a pleasant one and everybody enjoyed it. Lot them prac tice up and meet again. 1t41 diut Fronm the ouin Was the ball that hit (. It. Stead man of Newark, Michigan, in the Civil War. W hen Constable Trid well went to carry him to the chain gang he abused everybody and everything in sight, and when ho reached a certain point in Giraveltown he jumped from the buggy and Mr. Tid well had soe difficulty in managing him. Finally he was tied and placed in the buggy and carried to the gang. When ho arrived there and his hands were un tied he made an effort to clean up things there, Hie was finally tied and the shackles put on him and a lesson learned him that he'll never forget. Is fine was paid later ini tile day and he was released a sadder and a wiser negro. ECZECIa ITCh ING Hi UMOHN~T14iIsb CUILiCED SY 15. B. ii. Bottle Free to Bufferers. Does your Skin Itch and Burn?
