The County Teachers' Institute held Its meeting in the opera house last Neek, commeneing on Monday and )losing on Friday. It was in charge of Profs. E. L. Hughes, of Green%l.l, W. [i. HIand, of Cht ster, and Miss Nellie )hupnan of this county. The following gentlemen delivered ectures: Prof. E. L. Hughes- Hamlet. President F. C. Woodward, of South ,arolina College -Education. Prof. W. II. Hand-I1'nglish con truction. - They were all Instructive, entertain ng and well received. The attendance was not as large as night have been desired, but those who vere present all went away feeling hat it was well they had been there. Phere were 71 enrolled. Besides the lectures at night there vore sessions each morning and after loon. The ministers of the town kindly us isted in all the opening exercises, and y their attendance conduced largely o the success of the sessions. Our Superintendent of Education, dr. F. W. Higgins, was the presiding mlcer of the Institute and in his usual appy style introduced the speakers.
