Augusta, Ga., is the city that al ways takes the lead in everything she undertakes-other cities follow. Th's will hold good in the prepara tions the Merry Makers Association are making for the Gala Week, which commences April 27th and closes May ]st. A Gala Week in Augusta has its full neaning in) every sense of the word. The Merry Makers have en gage(d some of the most famous per formers, male and female in the United States. They are comed iuans, trapeze, and Aerial Artists. Their performances will be given in the open air on Broad Street, free to all. Aside froin the above mentioned entertainments, there will bo a grand bicycle parade, wheels decorated and riders in costume. Two thousand school children in fancy dress in pro cession. A grand floral parade, a wild west parade composed of the most daring male and femalo riders. A military parade in which the Con federate Survivors Association's Vet eran Company will take part. The attractions aindi amusements arrang ed for the entertainment of the visi tors to Augusta during Gala Week are too numerous and varied to mon tion in dotail. Wo can promise this much for Augusta. No ono who vis its that city during the festivities will have just cause to complain as no city ill the South has yet, or over will surpass thom in entertaining their friends and visitors.
