Mack Glenn and Joe Glenn, colored, who were convicted of aggra vated assault andi( battery wvore sentenced to ninety days in the county Jail, at hard labor, uinder the newv lawv. A new trial wais granted to Vinnie Nance, who was convicted at the July term, 1885, of murder; Martha Lyles, who was charged with: the same crime, was tried at this term but the Jury failing to agree, a mistrial was ordereil.' Jt is qaid that new evidence has been discovered in this case. Judge Hludsop decided that he could do nothing hot criminal busi ness under the niew law governing the holding of the Summer term of court in Newberry County, and so the Court of Common Pleas wvas not called.
