The Entente foreign office, it was stated, would wait tintil after the Easter holidays to -begin acti've con sultations on the repartion comnmis sions report of Germany's refusal to pay, and the meeting of the council of ambassadors whilch had been set for today, 'was abandoned. The ambassa dors will not got together for 'their consultations before the middle of next week. A large crowd was in attendance, including a number of visitors. A special feature on the program greatly enjoyed by all was ithe solo, "In the Garden", by Nell Harris, and an !Easter recitation by Gladys Owings. At the conclusion of t'he ibusiness program, an egg hunt. .was participated in -bY the Juniors, after -which delightful light refresh ments consisting of sweets of all kind were served. This is a growing so ciety, and under the upervision of ,Mrs. Florence 'Ropp, 'the members are doing a wonderful work. The visitors were: Mesdames Sudie Owings, Eva Harris, Rosa Meeks, tHaskell Gray, Conway Gray, Julius Curry, Willie Harris, Jas. Ormstrong, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Curry, Mrs. 'L. 'D. Curry, Mra. D. D. 'Harris, and Misses Clara McCall, Emma 'Har ris, Fannie and Sallie D. Brownlee, and the Rev. C. W. Watson. Mrs. H1. Y. Simmons is spending a few days in Greenville, the guest of 'her daughter, Miss Mattie Simmons. Mr. and 'Mrs. Phillips, of the "Moun tain City" were the week-end guests of relatives here. Mr. Marvin Harris motored over and remained over until Monday iwith his parents, Mr. and Mrs. 1). D. Harris. ,Prof. C. F. Brooks of Edgefleld, and Mrs. H. G. Nabors, of Hickory Grove, spent the Easter holidays with their mother, Mrs. I. S. Brooks. Mr. and Mrs. Conway Gray, and lit tle D3ial, were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. S:im Curry, Sunday. Miss Jennie Bell Watkins, of Green ville, was the attractive -guest of Mr. and Mrs. Amnbrose lolder during the week-end. A number of Epworth Leaguers from Gray Court, came over and gave one of their league programns in the church here, on a recent Sunday afternoon. The program certainly proved very in teresting 'and was greatly enjoyed by all. The puIpose of the meeting was to organize a league at )ials. The young )eople of Gray 'Court are sure ly imbued with the league spirit and as a result of their interest and help an .T0worth League was organized at this place Sunday afternoon. The installation of officers rwill take place later. The first meeting of the league Will 'be held in the church Saturday evening, April 2nd, at 7:30 o'clock. Frank Martin, this week. Mr. Yates Brown, of Spartanburg, spent the .week-end with 'his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. 'Brown. Mr.. and Mrs. C. M. Templeton spent the week-end .with relatives in the Mount Pleasant section. The farmers .who have succeeded in making arrangements to run their farms are preparing for another crop. A larger acreage is being put in corn and spring oats. Some of the farm ers have not as yet succeeded in start ing a crop. Just so far as the lands of Laurehs county lie idle, so far 'will business suffer. This is a trying time for business men as %vell as farmors.
