C., Nov. 7.-Two un identified negroes early -tonight held Up an automobile party of two young men and two girls, white, on the high way three miles from Gastonia, N. C., killed one of the young 'ien, John Ford of Lincointon, N. V., dragged the girls from the automobile into the woods and assaulted -them and made their escape, according to telephone messages to the Charlotte ipolico de partment. iLate tonight Charlotte police officers, with a posse of officers and armed citizens of Gaston county were scour ing the countryside in search of the negroes, -who were believed, however, to have made their escape on a pass Ing freight train. Feeling was said to be intense. The two young women were taken to a Gastonia hospital, where it was said late tonight their condition is se rious. Their homes are in Gastonia.
