Of course the bridges in Laurens county should be made safe for the safety and convenience of the traffie that goes over them, but (soft pedal now) what have the merchants of Greenwood to do with bridges in Laurens county? Mark the word "de niand" in the Greenwood paper's edi torial. Possibly the Greenwood Chain ber of Comn meree, which, no doubt, wields unintentionally, a considerable political inflience, could effectively 'deiand" that the Greenwood side of one of .the bridges be fixed and that the road thereon to Greenwood be put in good repair, but we seriousy doubt the effectiveness of similar demands on other counties. And the old Puckett's Ferry bridge is again revived. Our recollection is that the liaurens and Groeenwood odel gations in the General Assembly voted an appropriation for tills bridge with the reservation that the matter he left to the ltiimate decislon of the respee lve coilnty Liu1pervisors.
