Rev. Mr. Rotchford attended com mencement at Clinton last Wednesday. Waterloo and Cross Hill teams crossed bats on the diamond here last Thursday, resulting in a score of & to 1 in favor of Cross Hill. The friends of Miss Lida Rudd will be glad to know that she is much bet ter and we hope will soon be well again. Miss Anne Austin came home from Philadelphia today. She has been at tending lectures at the Woman's Med ical College in preparation for work as a foreign missionary. The Daughters of the Confederacy have a very unique and Interesting programme arranged 1\>r Thursday. ^June 12th, afternoon and evening. The Sous of Veterans have the promise of a lively base ball game at I o'clock. At ?5 o'clock tlie ladies will have an ice cream festival and in the evening a musical to begin at 8:30. int.-rest ing exercises by the young people and children all for the old soldiers' ben efit fund. Everybody come and have a good time and help a good cause. Another attraction during the festival at t'? o'clock may be car rides around the belt for a minimum fare. All who own cars are requested to help out with this attraction. Prof. Clinkseales at Mount > ille. Mountvllle, June ?Prof. Jno. G. Clinkseales of Wofford College will de liver an address in the school house at Mountvllle on Friday evening. June 13th. Prof. Clinkseales has not an nounced his subject as yet, but his reputation as a forceful speaker is so wide that it is certain that a large audience will enjoy the treat of hear ing him. The following students are at home from their respective colleges: Miss Eliza Mae Sullivan from Winthrop, Messrs Wilton and Roy Mitchell and William Fellers from the University of S. Pressly. of Mt. Carmel. tilled the pulpit at Head Springs last Sun day morning. Miss Louis Richardson attended commencement at Erskine last week. H. R. W. H. Lewis, the Methodist pastor, has been conducting a protracted meeting here for the last two weeks. Hro. Lewis preached strong and impressing ser mons at every service and it is be lieved that lasting good has been ac complished in the series of services that come to a close Sunday night. The Baptists will gegin a protrac ted meeting here the third Sunday in June. The pastor, Rev. G. C. Hedge peth, will be assisted in this meeting by Rev. J. A. Brock, of Greenville. Hro. Brock is one of the former pas tors of the Lucas Avenue Church and a man dearly loved by a greater por tion of the Watts Mills people. It is trusted that all the people will at tend these services and that a great revival shall break forth and many precious souls be born into the Bless ed Kingdom of our Lord. The Watts Mills school c* to a close last Friday. All the children and teachers enjoyed a nice picnic at Yarborough's mill. This has been a most successful session and the chil dren have advanced greatly In their studies.
