The day was made memorable because of the real happiness of the occasion and the sumptuous dinner which was served. The ladies arrived early and staid late, enjoying the day thoroughly chatting among themselves and re counting experiences of the days gone by. The guests of Mrs. Garrett were Mrs. H. W. Anderson, Mrs. J. H. Bow en, Mrs. Annie Sherard, Mrs. Ar rah Sullivan, Mrs. Maggie Todd, Mrs. Lucy N. Boyd, Mrs. Sallic Dunlap, Mrs. Nannie M. Irby. Mrs. Garrett's daugh ter, Mrs. Ed. Gage, of Greenville came down to assist with the details of the I entertainment. LAURENM KEELS THURSDAY. All Local Keels Will be Shown Then and Again on Saturday. Manager Lavender of "the picture show announces that all the local pic tures taken during the school fair will be shown Thursday, May 8th and again on Saturday May 10th. They are shown on Saturday especially for the benefit of the school children throughout the county who have not had tin oppor tunity to see them. Annual Jones Picnic. Attractive programs announcing the approaching Jones picnic have been issued. This annual affair is usually attended by thousands of people and this year will be no exception. A very interesting program has been ar ranged by the school and several1 ad dresses will be made by prominent men. Ben. E. 1). Smith, of Florence, and Hon. Mendel L. Smith, of Canulen, will make addresses. A base ball game between Waterloo and Ware Shoals will be played in the afternoon. Painful Accident. Mrs. Mary Scruggs, who lives near Owlngs Stations, was painfully injured several days ago when she was thrown violently to the ground while working with a young cair. Thomp son is very ill at this writing. T. J. Cooper, Watts Patton and Rhett Sloan have returned from Laurens. Mr. F. J. Braig went to Greenville Monday on business. Inez Green visited her grandmother, Mrs. M. L. Cooper, Sunday. Miss Annie Rose Martin and Miss Annie Bell Arnold, teachers of the Iluntersville school, visited Mrs. J. B, Cook Friday night. Wo have a few cases of mumps in this section but hope they will soon be well. Mr. Bruce Arnold, of the Bell view section, attended services at Bethany Sunday. Miss lola Bragg visited Miss Cynthia Cooper last week. Our Sunday school of this section prove?, to be a great success with W. J. Cooper as superintendent. Wo are all very glad to see our new road, so wo can travel it. Misses Ethel and Annie Roberts vis ited Misses Anna May and Beatrice Fowler last week. Mr. and Mrs. Boone Newman were In Fountain Inn Tuesday shopping. J. A. Cooper and little son, Claud, were visitors at J. A. Green's Sunday afternoon.
