M. Rickman. Mr. Rickman had only been sick with pneumonia soven days. He Is sur fived by his wife and nine children, five boys and four girls: Fred, Arnold. Roy, .lohn and Allen; Misses Sue and Kate, Mrs. ('laud MoCray and Mrs. (\ J. Bums, The funeral was conducted at the home of the deceased by Rev. Mr. Mc Lln. his pastor, Sunday evening at 3 o'clock, and at four o'clock his body was laid to rest In the Laurens cem etery. On last Saturday evening at 3 o'clock the J. R. O. U. A. M. of Little River Council raised a Hag on the school building at Watts mills. This was altogether a nice occasion. All the school children marched with the Ju niors, each bearing in his band a lit tle U. S. flag. After the flag was rais ed the order treated all the scholars to something good in the way of can dy, etc. This was altogether an enjoy able occasion and a very good crowd attended it. Rev. Mr. McLin preuched to a very good congregation on last Sunday morning at eleven o'clock. Mr. Oeo. Campbell Is suite sick at this time. Rev. Mr. Davis preach at Watts mill church Sunday night at 7:30 o'clock. Mr. B. P. Bobo has been very sick for a week or so. Mr. M. .1. Hall and family of North Carolina have returned to Watts mill. Weathers, a former newspaper reporter and mus ic writer, left Hillside Saturday for aJck8onvllle, Fla. Weathers will be greatly wlssed in this community. He is a member of the W. O. W., also a member of Hillside church, and holds office in that church as singing clerk. He is a farmer by occupation, but he has the nerve to accomplish any work given hint within his training.
