IL Patton, of New Jersey. The lecture van fine and much enjoyed by those present. Rahbbit hunting season has again ar rived, judging from the great number brought Into Watts last Saturday. Mr. Jasper Piddle has been suite sick for the past few days. Rev. Mr. Davis preached at the Watts mill Methodist church last Sunday morning from the text "The wind bloweth where it llsteth and ye lie-ar the sound thereof but cannot tell whence it cometh nor whither it jjoeth. so Is every one that is born of the Hplrlt." On last Sunday night at 7:15 o'clock Rev. J. A. Marler preached a temper ance sermon at Lucas Avenue Baptist church. Uro. Marler spoke of the aw ful egects of strong drink, and how it was dragging down to ruin our young men of today. He not alone spoke of the Intemperate use of strong drink, but nrged the people to he temperate In nil things. He based his sermon on the great city of Samaria which had been caused to suffer and fade away as doth a (lower on account of their dealing with strong drink. He compared those ancient days with to ?tay and showed how this death dealing ?traffic could bring to ruin and de struction our cities and towns. Mr. W. B. Compton visited friends and relatives at Rnoree last Sunday. Mr. J. W. Hellams and wife visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Donaldson bust Sunday. Mr. Lewis Kennedy, who for quite awhile has been working at Watts mill in now working with the Duncan mills wf Greenville. Lit tle Mil wee. the daughter of Mrs. "Munde Hobo, has been quite ill. but is thought to be somewhat improved at this writing. WTiat Is sweeter than to go to the ^>abt>:ith school and study about Jesus and his love? And yet there are so many that neglect these grand privi leges. There are two Sunday schools held at Watts mill every Sunday, the Baptist Sunday school, meeting every Sunday morning at 10 o'clock and the Methodist Sunday school at 3 o'clock in the evening. It would certainly gladden the hearts of Bro. Sims and Bro. Prior, the two superintendents, to see all the people of Watts mill out at Sunday school every Sunday and not only would It please these men. but it would be well ploaslng in tho sight of God, and he would bless our communit/ if men would only attend the house of worship on tiie Sabbath day. instead of spending it in Idle and vain talk. So make It convenient to be at Sunday school next Sunday. A worry goo.l crowd was out to the ordination service last Wednesday night notwithstanding the unfavora ble weather. Pro. Marler .v.'is ordain ed to the gnu pel ministry. The pres bytery was formed of Rev. J, M. Trog don, Rev. Mr. Thayer, Rov. J. D. Bow ens and the board of deacons. Rev. Mr. Thayer delivered the charge and Rev. I). Bowen offered the prayer. Mr Sanford Bagwell Is very 111 at this writing. The Watts mill company have a fine ginnery for ginning long staple cotton and have been doing a good business. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cothran were visiting friends and relatives at Eno ree last week and returned to Watts mill Thursday morning. Mr. Buck Lambert Is all smiles?It's a boy. Mrs. Luther Kirby Is quite sick at this writing. Mr. Barnett and family, of Enoree, have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Hunter during the past week. Administrator's Sale.
