Owings Elected Sheriff. O. P. GOODWIN DEFEATS BOYD J. Waddy Thompson Defeated Joel A. Smith by the Largest Majority of any Candidate, Receiving more Votes Than any other Cnndidnte who had Opposition. Daddy Thompson polled the biggest vote of any opposed candidate and he was elected over Joel A. Smith on the first go-round. O. P. Goodwin was elected over R. Dunk Hoyd for the state senate by a majority of a few hundred votes. Irby and Black well were elected to the legislature on the first ballot and the second race will be rcn by Dr. Mil ler and Geo. A. Browning. John D. Owings was elected sherig over both opponents. C. A. Bower and John F. Bolt will run over for clerk of the eon it. For county commissioners the whole push, with the exception of one mane, will have to run over. Bailey, Curry and 11 itt. are in a close race to sec who will be the commissioner to go home to rest. For magistrate In this township Crews, Donaldson and Sullivan are] fighting for the privilege of getting in the -econd race. The others are out of it. Other magisterial races have not been heard from. The above Is about the size of the situation. Anything else can be got ten from the tables found on this page. A few errors might be found in them, but they are in the main accurate and will be corrected by the time of the next issue. The next primary is two weeks from yesterday. That's all.
