Mr. M, T. Simpson was a juror at the federal court at Greenville last week. Mr. Marvin Anderson attended the Sunday School Convention at Green wood last Wednesday. Mr. T. M. Plnson went over to Ches ter to see his brother Dr. E. W. Pin sou last Wednesday. The doctor Is not so well and his people are appre hensive about his condition. Mrs. W. C. Kasor returned last Tues day from a visit to relatives at Lau rens and Clinton. Mr. W. C. llasor left last Wednesday for Atlanta to be gone several days. Mrs. Janle McSwain Is visiting Mr. W. A. McSwain and family in New berry. She expects to meet her grand daughter, little Miss Janle Belle Mc Swain there for the first time. Mr. J. C. Chandler met with a seri out accident last Thursday. He was driving a nail, the hammer made a glancing lick and the nail hit him in the eye. The doctor Is afraid he will lose his eye. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Hill went over to Chester last Wednesday and return ed Thursday. Dr. J. D. Austin of Clinton was here on a business visit last Thursday. David, the little son of Mrs. Laura DurnBlde has been qluto 111 for sev eral days with fever. Two negroes, a man and a woman, were lodged In the calaboose here last Wednesday, charged with burning the barn of Mr. W. L. Teague of Mountvlllo They wero given a preliminary bear ing before Magistrate W. H. Fuller Thursday and sent to Jail. Jones, April 22.?Mr. Johnnie Jack son attended the recent convention of Red Men at Gaffney. Mr. Harold Barinore has accepted a position with Ware Shoals Manufac turing Co. Wo recently met our good friend Mr. June Martin of Donalds. Mr. T. J. Beacham made a trip to Columbia last week. Mrs. B. C. Graham passed away on the 19th inst. and was laid to rest the following day at the Graham cem etery. She whs a most excellent wo man and all of our people tenderly sympathize with the boreaved family. Mr. Jas. Killlngsworth, of Lavonla, Ga., recently visited relatives and friends hero. He was reared here and his friends are glad to hear he has prospered in his new home. Mr. Young Wlllard caught a 24-lb carp last week. We recently enjoyed the hospitality of our friends Mr. and Mrs. Joel A. Smith. Mr. Walter Jones, has some fine oats. Contractor John Cook Is building a nice six-room cottage for Mr. Thos Jones. The Democratic Club will meet Sat urday, 27th inst at 2 p. m. We cor dially invite all of our friends to at tend and enroll their names. We recently visited our venerable friend Capt. George V. Anderson of Waterloo and was very sorry to find him critically ill. We also visited our warm frleud and schoolmate, Mr. Ben Anderson, who has been Ml for some time. Wo sincerely trust that they may both, under tho skillful attention of Dr. Fennel 1 be restored to health. Rev. Mr. Edwards, a candidate for school commissioner was here last week. Tho many friends of Miss Lou Ella, daughter of Mr. Wiley Watklns, will be pained to learn of her death from pneumonia. All of our people tender ly sympathize with the bereaved fam ily. Frank Anderson for recent kind favors Mr. Leo Bannon, chief electrician at Ware Shoals, is thoroughly familiar with his duties and is well liked by all who have met him. Miss Nannie Rowland was the guest of Miss Bessie Blakely Monday night. Mrs. N. J. Anderson, Msses Cora Workman, Hessle Blakely, Nannie Rowland, Irene and Mabel Goodwin were the guests of Mrs. R. T. Cunning ham Monday. Little Misses Martha Reid and Mary Bell Todd. of Long Branch, spent the week-end with their grandmother, Mrs. Mattie Sloan.
