T JOHNSON SPEAKS FOR HARMON Says Ho HelloTCH (hat the Missouri Leader Is the Vote Winner of the Tarty and a Great Harmonlzer. Congressman Joseph T. Johnson, In an interview sent out from Washing ton several days ago, comes out for Champ Clark for the democratic nom ination for president. There are the words of Mr. Johnson: "I have about decided that Champ Clark would get more voles than any candidate we could put up," said Mr. Johnson. "He would be as accepta ble to what may be termed the Bryan wing of the party us any candidate that we could name, except Wilson, and he would be less objectionable to the conservative element than almost any other man. I belong to the Bryan school of democracy, or course, and I have been a great admirer of Wood row Wilson. I still admire him, and agree with his political views, but it just seems to me that Clark is the best man for us to nominate. Clark is a simon-pure democrat?his record is as good as any man's. More than that he is a great harmonlzer and he Is a superb leader. The democratic party owes much to nim for the posi tion it is in today, and I am dally growing to be more of the opinion that ho is the best man for us to nominate."
