Oct. 20.?A movement has j been launched by Gnffney men, back ed by the board of trade, to secure, a branch railroad from this city to Chesneo to tap the Clinchlleld, Caro lina & Ohio at that point. It is not definitely know as yet Just what pro gress hits been made by those who are working on the matter, but it is said that considerable headway has been made. It is the plan to raise $2.">,ot)U at the start in order that the prelim inary work may he done as rapidly and quickly as possible, and then lat er, if possible, the line will he leased to some railroad company to operate. It is not the intention, however, of the promoters of the scheme to relinquish entire control of the road. It Is thought that the money will be rais ed without any great difficulty. The business men of the town seem to want some such connection, and if they are willing to back the scheme with their capital the road will be a reality. This is the first time that any positive action has been attempt ed in the matter. HOW TO CURE RHEUMATISM. It Is an Internal Disease and Requires an Internal Remedy.
