While in the city they were the guests at the home of Mr. John Peterson. Mr. S. Y. Culbertson. a popular salesman of the city, has resigned his position with Mr. J. H. Sullivan where he has worked the past three years. Mr. L. L. Moore, formerly with ('apt. Philpot, has accepted the position re signed by Mr. Culbertson. Dr. George Y. Moore, a native Lau rens man who lias been engaged in the drug business at Cuthbert, Ga., for the past thirteen years, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel W. Moore, near F.kom. during the holiday. Mr. W. H. Hudgens and family have moved to the city from their country home three miles from town. They occupy the D. F. Balentine residence, corner of Irby avenue and Academy street. Mr. Hudgens having recently purchased this property. Mr. John N. Wright and daughters entertained ut a Christmas dinner, with the following members of their family as guests: Mr. and Mrs. Thos. F. Jones of Woodruff, Mr. John N. Wright of Spartanburg. Mr. W. T. Wright of Savannah. Ga.. Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Hudgens. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Miller of Laurens. Young Nan Seriously Stabbed. As the result of an altercation last Thursday at the Laurens Cotton mills village, in which threo young men were engaged, so it is alleged, Rich mond King of Clinton was seriously stabbed in the abdomen. Charged with the assault on ycung King. Will doff and Bennett Thompson, both of Laurens, were arrested shortly after the affray and lodged In jail to await the outcome of King's wound. The wounded man was given medical aid at once and made as comfortable as possible, but it may be several days before he Is entirely out of danger.
