SCHOOL NEWS NOTES OE LAURENS COUNTY The Schools Teachers and Pupils. All the schools oi the county are asked to give holiday on Friday Nov. 25 und attend the corn show at Lau rens. There will bo a grand parade of the school children on that day. We want every pupil in the county to ho in line. Remember that Nov. ur> is the day for the Hoys' Corn club show. Miss Elizabeth Cannon of day Court has gone to her school in Geor getown. During the past summer more than a dozen new school buildings were erected in thee ounty. To assist in the building of these houses $3,034.00 was donated by the State and county. Miss Amanda Glenn is assisting Miss Klla Peterson in the Harmony school. The State High school board has made the following appropriations to tlio high schools of the county: Clin ton. $495; Cross Hill, $500; Cray Court. $390; Green Pond. $165; Lau rens, $450; Mountvlllo, $.">1 o; Shiloh, $200; Waterloo. $1100. Miss Mary Teague of Laurens is assisting Miss Maggie Carllngton in tho Barksdale school. Quite a number of the schools of the county are enlarging their libra rles. Every school should take ad vantage of this opportunity. The school makes up %'>, the district then gives $a. and the county superintend ent of education will get $5 from the State Library fund. Miss Janle Qarlington, teacher of the Rock Uridgo school, visited friends in the Rabun section Saturday and Sunday. The County Superinteendent of Ed ucation Is now mak'i.g his rounds to the schools of the county and will be in the office only on Saturdays. Checks to the amount of nearly $2,000 from the Harris fund have been received by the County Superintendent for the weak schools of the county. .Miss Nora Cannon of Lanford Sta tion will teach Riddle's Old Field school.
