AUCTION OF LOTS WAS HELD FRIDAY I { North Laurens Realty Company DIs-' f posed of Sixty-Nine Building g Lots at Fair Prices. | i According to advertisment. the North Luurens Realty company held its big auction sale of building lots on ! i the "first fair day after the 24th." and1 > this day fell on Friday, 25th, for then reason that the 24th was altogether \ unfair, one of the rawest, nastiest I l days of the month, and that is saying i a good deal. The bidding was in the main lively enough, and the lots sold, 09 in number, brought what is generally considered very flno prices, Mr, B. F. Arthur of Union managed the scheme And doubtless the promoters are satisfied with the results so far. It Is understood that another sale will take place later when the rest of the 75 acre tract will be disposed of. Throngs of people were there to wit ness the balloon ascension and many grew impatient because the perform NOTICE OF COUNTY TREASURER The books of the County Treasurer will be open for the collection of State, County and Commutation Road Taxes for fiscal year, 190!?, at the Treasurer's oiiicc from October 15th to December ?1st, 1009.
