The Laurens Advertiser announces the biggest contest ever put on in Laurens County, in which will be given away over $500.00 in valuable prizes. Contest begins next Monday, Aug 2nd, and will close Monday, November 2?th, lQ()b. GET VOTES:] |1 here are three methods of securing votes for this great contest. 1st. Clip the "nomination ballot," from this weeks issue, write the name and address plainly thereon and mail it at once to The Advertiser. That gives your candidate 500 Votes as a starter. 2nd. Clip the "Weekly Ballot," as many of them as you can get, and vote for your favorite; each of these ballots counts for 10 votes. 3rd. The "Voting Certificates," are to be used in sending in subscriptions, old or new, w ith every dollar paid on subscription to The Laurens Advertiser, send one of these certificates w ith the name of your candidate plainly w ritten thereon and it w ill count 200 votes. Here is the opportunity. Get subscriptions or collect renewals, for every dollar you get 200 votes. At the end of the prescribed time, the votes will be counted and the Prizes awarded according to the standing of the candidates. The votes w ill be published each week. The contest is open to any white person residing within the territory coveted by The Advertiser, except those employed in The Advertiser Office and members of their immediate families. 3. Kvery dollar seemed on renewals or new subscriptions entitle.-, the candidate to 200 votes; other amounts, smaller or larger, at the same ratio. 4. Only one domination ballott will be allowed each candidate; these are good for 500 votes. 5. The Weekly coupons, good for 10 votes, are not restricted as to number, but must be voted within the three weeks prescribed by the ?t?te as printed thereon. 6. No candidate will be allowed to transfer his or her votes to another. 7. The person receiving the highest ntltubet of votes will be awarded the First Prize; the next highest, the .Second Prize, and so on according to the standing of the candidates at the close of the contest. 8. The Advertiser will not be responsible for any motleys paid to candidates until received in this office and receipted for by the management. 9.
