jNCREASED Shoals to Issue $300,000 Preferred. RESULT OF MEETING. Sepaiate Corporation Will be Organized to Operate Ware Shoals Railroad as Common Carrier. A dispatch sent out from Ware Shoals Wednesday night concerning the special meeting of the Ware Shoals Mill stockholders says: At tho special meeting of the stock holders of the Ware Shoals Manufac turing Company held hero today the capital stock of the company was in creased from $1,000,000 to $1,300,000, tho $300,000 increase being preferred -atock. The proposed increase of $500, 000 was reduced to $300,000 and the new stock will be issued as scon ns the necessary arrangements can be made. The preferred stock will bear interest at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum and may be redeemed for par value and a f> per cent, bonus nt the end of live years. The meeting passed off very quietly and the opposition to the increase was much smaller than had been expected. Tho treasurer's report for the eight months ending February 29 showed the company to be in excellent condition despite the financial uncertainty of the past few months. The question of the operation of the Ware Shoals railroad also came up at the meeting and it was decided to or ganize a separate corporation to op erate the railroad. This will be done and the road made a common carrier as soon as the necessary arrangements can be made. A good many of the local stockhold ers expressed themselves as being very well pleased with the result of the meeting. That languid, lifeless feeling that comes with spring and early summer can be quickly changed to a feeling of buoyancy and energy by the judicious use of Dr. Shoop's Restorative. The Restorative is a genuine tonic to tired, run-down nerves, and but a few doses is needed to satisfy the usor that Dr. Shoop's Restorative is actually reach ing that tired spot. The indoor life of winter nearly always leads to sluggish bowels and to sluggish circulation in general. The customary lack of exer cise and outdoor air ties up the liver, stagnates the kidneys, and ofttimcs weakens the heart's action. Use Dr. Shoop's Restorative a few weeks and all will be changed. A few days' test will tell you that you are using the right remedy. You will easily and surely note the change from day to day. Sold by Palmetto Drug Co. FARMERS UNION SUN. Most farmers who have corn at this season also have cash. There are very few farmers who have cash and no corn. The man who buys corn at this time has to send out of the country cash that would be very acceptable at home. If York county should raise all the corn she needs there would be a great deal more cash than there is, because, approximately speaking, every bushel of corn that comes here from the West pinches one dollar off tho local circula tion. All good business men have more or less appreciation of the extent to which corn is a money crop. It is only those who have less business capacity, who hold that there is no money in corn. It is very rarely the case that a farmer who makes enough corn to run him until the next crop gets into finan cial difficulty, and it. is almost as rare when a farmer who fails to make suffi cient corn to run his place geta to the next crop without trouble. -Yorkville Enquirer. A young man who is very particular about his washing recently wrote a note to his washerwoman and one to hi* sweetheart, and by a strange fatal ity he put the wrong address on each envelope and sent them off. The wash erwoman was sent the invitation to take a ride the next day, but when the young lady read, "If you tumble up my shirt bosom any more, a? you did last time, I'll go somenvhere else," she cried all tho evening, and declared she would never speak to him again. ?
