Sims Glenn, a negro of the Goldville section is in jail and will be tried at the next term of court on the charge of having killed Rob Byrd also colored and likewise a citizen of the cummunity in which the homicide occurred. There is othing at all remarkable in the forego ing statement, it is one of very com mon and almost weekly occurrence, but the fact that Glenn voluntarily came in and surrendered to the sheriff is quite unusual for the negro who does murder. Glenn killed his man with a gun. The shooting took place several days ago and Byrd lingered until Wednesday. Huge Task. Martinez, great works is enough to paint every house and everything made of wood in a city with the L. & M Paint. In use thirty years; several houses painted with 1/. & M. L. & M. costs about $1.20 per gallon. The L. &. M. Is the best and cheap est, because the L. & M. Zinc, hardens the L. & M. White Lead, and makes it paint more surface and wear a longer time than any other paint. L. & M. costs about $1.20 a gallon. It only requires 4 gallons of this cele brated and 3 gallons of Linseed Oil at 60 cents per gallon to paint a moderate sized house. Therefore a property owner ought not pay $1.50 per gallon for Linseed Oil, which he must do when a ready-for-use paint is l>ought. L. & M. costs about $1.20 a gallon. W. L. Boyd, Laurens, S. C. An Elegant Affair. One of the most delightful events of Thanksgiving Day was the dinner given by Mr. Jas. Judge Watts has been reversed fewer times by the Supreme Court than any Circuit Judge in the State and has served the same length of time, and in J every way he has proved himself a man fit for the position. So far as we know, the other members have done their duty and are no less able and efficient jurists than Judge Watts. ?Cheraw Citizen. A Bad Scare.
