The twenty-sixth annual ineet-j iug of the Laurens County In terdenominational Snr^iay School Association,. ? convened with nr-W * ?jjrings Presbyterian Church, Thursday and Friday, September ist and 2nd 1904. First Day, Skpt. ist. 10 o'clock a. ym.?Devotional exercises, conducted by Rev. J. I,. McL-in. 10.20?Address of welcome by J. O. Templeton. Responded to in behalf of the Convention by J. P. Saxon. President W. A. M. Plaxco being absent, W. F. Wright was unanimously elected President of the Convention. Thirty-two schools answered to the roll call and the total amount $51.45 was paid in for "County and State work." A collection was taken for the four orphanages in the State, amounting to $8.00 and on mo tion of the Secretary #1.90 was donated to the collection from the County Sunday School Con vention, making the collection $10.00 ($2.50 to each orphanage). The delegates present then gave verbal reports of the work ings of their several schools? telling number received in the church from the Sunday school since last Sunday school conven vention ? amount of money raised for various purposes includ ing domestic and foreign missions also our orphanages in the State, Committee on Nominations, J, P. Saxon, G. C. Young and R. P. Adair. Committee on Resolutions, J. H. Wharton, I,. Abercrombie and Rev. B. H. Grier. Delegates assigned to their homes. Convention then ad journed for dinner. AFTERNOON?FIRST DAY. 2.30 Devotional exercises by G, C. Young. Verbal reports from schools re sumed and concluded. The convention was then ad dressed by the Rev. B. H. Grier and Prof. F. E. Dibble. The convention was then lead iu special prayer by the Rev. J, Tv. McL-in for the Sunday school teachers. The convention adjourned un til 8.30 when Rev. J. McL,in preached a most excellent sermon to the convention. SECOND DAY. to a. m. Devotional exercises ?J. F. Tolbert. How to develop scholars into teachers?J. P. Saxon. Followed by general discussion, the follow ing taking part?J. H. Wharton, Miss Mary Templeton, Jno. N. Golden, W. F. Wright, and J. O. Templeton. The Convention was then ad dressed by Hon. C. C.
