Tho Convention of Reformers mot in tho court houso at 11 A. M. on yester day. O. P. Goodwin wus chosen Pres ident and J. W. Yoargiu, Secretary. Tho convention got promptly to work. Tho following delegates wero elocted to roprosont tho county Reformers at tho Stato Convention in Columbia on the Kith instunt: C. S. McCravy. R. L. Henry, M. B. Crisp, J. C. McMillan, T. R. L. Cray, J.C. McDaniol, Y. C. Hollams, J. H. Wharton. Thoy wero instructed to voto for Evans and Timmcrmnn for Govornor and Lieut. Governor. A long tight occurred over a resolu tion ol J. M. Hudgons that it is the sense of tho convention that a full ticket be named by tho State Conven tion from Governor down. It was fi nally passed without a dissenting voice. Senator Irby was present and on this subject addressed words of advice, and said that there was danger of a break among roformers, there being traitors among them and opposition by a third party aided by tho Antls at tho Nov ember election. There was an inter esting parllamcntry jungle at ono time with motions, amendments, substi tutes and motions to table and tilings wore considerably mixed, but straight ened themselves out at last and they got there, putting the U. S. Senate and other kindred bodies to a shame ful blush. Tho following Tillman electors for the August primaries wero elected, each man vouching his allegiance to Tillman and Reform doctrines: J. T. Pedon, H. E. Gray, .1. E. Uoyd, G. W. Culbortson, J. Andy Jones, John M. Gray, S. W. Lowe, (). P. Goodwin. The prominent speakers in the body wero Mr. J, M. Hudgcns, Mr. J. E. Boyd, Mr. Dunk Boyd, Mr. C. R. Wallaoo and a few others. A resolution was passed endorsing J. Gary Watts for Adjt. General. During tho proceedings a telegram was read announcing that Kvans had the reform voto of tho State which was received with applause. At the primaries on Saturday last tho vote cast was less than 700 votes, which reads very small for a faction claiming 1800 votes. We aro free to say however, that the vote in our judgment expresses the voice of the faction and that Evans and Tim merman are the choice of the county Roformers by large odds, notwith standing the small vote. There was considerable enthusiasm and interest in tho body and from all the manifes tations Tillmanism still has hopes of a good time coming for all of us in tho future?near or farther as the thing may gang. N., that gentleman states that ho has just been assigned to duty on the Dolphin, and therefore will not bo ablo to pay his intended visit to his old homo next week. The Dolphin Is tho President's dispatch boat, and is gonorally either at or about Washing ton and New York. Besides being the President's dispatch boat the Dolphin is also to a certain degreo the Presi dent's pleasure boat, and that of the Administration and diplomatic corps. For those reasons and the social op portunities afforded to tho officers on tho Dolphin, an appoint men; to her is always hailed with delight.
