Clem Davis, a negro, was arrested last woek on the charge of setting lire to the gin and mill of Mr. Bon Arnold, of Princeton. It was rumored here that Davis con fessed and implicated another party. It is further reported that before so doing he was whipped and thatjho now denies all knowledge of the affair. The play was a highly meritorious one and the hope is expressed that Laurens may count upon its revisiting her next season.
