Could Not Lie On
Left Side.
Dr.Miles'Heart Cure and
Nervine Cured Me.
Mrs. II. R. Jobc, formerly of Birmingham,
Ala.. writes from Eldredge, the same state,
as follows;
"It is witnthe greatest pleasure that I recommend
Dr. Miles' N< rvine and Heart
Cure. I only wish that I could tell every
sufferer how much good they have done me.
Last winter I had a severe attack of LaGrippe,
which left my heart in a very bad
condition. I could not he down for the
mothering spells that would almost overcome
me and the feeling of oppression
around my heart. I had not been so that I
could lie on my left side for a long time. I
aot your Heart Cure and took three bottles.
I have no trouble now with my liearv and
can lie on my left side as well as my right.
Formerly I had suffered for years with nervous
prostration. I had tried so many remedies
that I had got clear out ol heart of getting
anything that would help me. The
nerves of my heart were so affected that
sometimes it would lose beats so it would
seem to stop altogether. It was on the advice
of a lady friend that I tried your Restorative
Nervine. I felt better after the first
few doses and two bottles of Nervine and
one of Heart Cure made me feel like a new
person. My heart is all right and my nervousness
is all gone. I never fail to recommend
it to others afflicted as i was."

In Addition a Fine of Ten Thousand

Washington, P'eb. 27.?August
W. Machen, formerly general
superintendent of the tree deliv
ery postal service, Dr. George E.
Lorenz ol Toledo, once post mas
ter of that city, and Diller B.
Groll'of this city, all of whom
were convicted of conspiracy
against the government in connection
with the supply of the
Groff fasteners to the postollice
department, today were sentenced
by .Judge Pritchard to two years
imprisonment in the Moundsville,
VV. Yra., penitentiary and a fine
of $10,000 each. The defendants
immediately gave notice of ap
peal to the court of appeals and
w re released on $20,000 bond
each. Samuel A. Grot! was not
sentenced, his motion for a new
trial, and for arrest of judgment
being allowed further considera
tion.
The sentence imposed on
Machen, Lorenz and Diller Grofl
is the maximum allowed under
the law. Th.s appeals- to the
upper court will be pressed as
rapidly as possible, according to
the defense, but months may
elapse before the appeals can be
heard.
The prosecution asked the imposition
of the full penalty on
each count, the adoption of which
propisition, it was pointed out,
would involve a total of 24 years
imprisonment, and a fine ot $ 120,
000. The defense characterized
this as an outrageous and absurd
proposition, arguing that as there
had been but one offense alleged
in the whole indictment the
couri nau no power 10 impose uie
penalty on more than one of the
counts. Judge Pritchard stated
that lie was satisfied that the ver
diet of the jury was correct but
he did not know whether the imposition
of a penalty in a single
count would be heavy enough,
lie decided this question alter
recess, holding that he would im
pose a penalty under only one
count. The prisoners then stood
up for sentence. Machen was
first called. When the couit
sentenced him Machen's eyeH
filled, and he trembled slightly
as he resumed his seat. Then he
clasped his hands and sat staring
ahead of him and the two others
were given the same sentence.

Having happened in a small Vir

an hour the dry good's company

Wakeful Children.
For a long time the two year old
child of Mr. I' I.. McPherson, N.

sleep bat two or three hoars in the

it very hard for her parents. Her

Miss Pryor was an adopted sister
of Mrs. Annie R. Ingles who

When the death occurred there
was not sufficient money to take
the body home and Mrs. Ingles
decided to have the body embalmed

Bladder troubles almost always result
from a derangement of the kidneys and
a cure is obtained quickest by a proper
treatment of the kidneys. If you are feeling
badly you can make no mistake by
taking Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root, the
great kidney, liver and bladder remedy.
It corrects inability to hold urine and
scalding pain in passing it, and overcomes
that unpleasant necessity of being
compelled to go often through the day,
and to get up many times during the
night. The mild and the extraordinary
effect of Swamp-Root is soon realized. 4
It stands the highest for its wonderful
cures of the most distressing cases.
