To Raise Supplies for the|
Fiscal Year Commencing!

lie it ordained by the Mayor and
\Idermen of the Town ??f Lancaster,
S. ('., in Council assembled, and by
the aut hority of the same, to provide
for supplies and necessary expenses
of the town.
Section 1 That the following taxes
be and are hereby levied for the fiscal
year HUM, that is to say:
1st A tax of fifty cents on each
$100.00 of the valup of all real and
personal property within the corporate
limits of the Town of Lancaster,
S. C., due and payable between the
first and tbirty-tirst days of November,
1004, at the office of the Town
Treasurer; and all taxes due ami remaining
unpaid on the 1st day of
December, 1004, shall be subject to a
penalty of 15 per cent for the nonpayment
of taxes tvni due. And ttie
Town Treasurer iuter default in the
payment of said taxes, shall issue ex
trillion uirecieu in hii) policeman or
the Town or sheriff of the county for
Hie delinquent taxes, costs ami penalties
following Hie inoite for collecting:
delinquent taxes as now provided by
State laws.
2nd The following licenses shall
We paid in advance on or for the following
vocation, bu-inesses or privileges,
and it shall be unlawful for any
one to engage in or follow any of the
following businesses or vocations
within the corporate limits of thei
Town without first pay ing the license '
herein alter stated for said calling or
business; and where the license is
based upon income from -aid business
or vocation, the income derived from
said business or vocation for the last, ]
fiscal year ending December 31 st,

Section 3. That whenever in this

with a sale or transfer of a stock
of goods, shop outfit or machinery,and
