He later appeared n< w Fort Mill, this time in the role and dress of the oft heard of "wild man," and frightened some of the colored residents of that section badly- Ho was later oti brought hack home and will probably he committed to an asylum for the insane as he is evidently deranged. The Llock Hill Herald gives an incident of his career which is of interest. Some 2f> years ago lie was charged with burning a barn and was convicted, sentenced to 20 years imprisonment When he had well and faithfully served about t< n years of the time a dying negro near the scene of the crime confessed his guilt and Dave Wade was released with shattered consti 111 rion and as those later events prove with his mind ad'eoted. The <]uostion has been raised since this hist, escapade as to whether lie should or should not havo had some reparation made him by the State of South Carolina.
