The production by States in eludes the following, the first fig ures being for gold value and th second for silver at commercia value: Georgia, $133,000 am $240; North Carolina, 34,500 am $180; South Carolina, $160,10 aud $240; Virginia, $7,100 am $60. The world's production of gol< in 1899 was of the value of $306, 584,900, an increase of $19,156, 300 over 1898.
