Mr. Daniel Todd who lives on Mr Charley Adams' place \ about four iniles north of town, j lost his barn and about 1200 i bundles of fodder by fire last Friday night about dark. The origin of the fire is unknown He got his mules out Wreck on the V. <C A. W. A wreck occurred on the Carolina and North Western Railroad yesterday morning this side of I^enoir, N. C. A double bonder freight train left Lenoir at 0 a, in. and the front engine and four box cars left the track as the}r were on a down grade Engineer John Palmer and his colored fireman and a brakeman named Williams were killed.
