Mr. Johnson I says he feels very much improved. ?Mr. R. J. Mackorell has taken a place with J. M. Heath & Co. as manager of their gro eery department. Mr. Mackorell has had abundant experience in this line and is a good man for the place. Goods are coming in every day, and are being opened up. This room used for the grocery department is the one vacated by the Withf? ers Adickes Company and has been repaired and painted. A hole has been cut in the divi ding wall at the rear for the cashier's desk, which extends half into the dry goods department.?Yorkville Yeoman. ?Mr. W. T. He after- | wards married Miss Nannie Reed, daughter of late Capt. J. L. Iteed,i who preceded him only about three months, leaving no issue, their only child having died in infancy. Mr. Massey was a good man and a valuable citizen, and hehl several positions of honorj and trust during his life. He was elected to the legislature in 1886 and served two years. In 1.800! ho was elected school commis sioner and served two years. He1 never offered for re election in either case. During his early life ho taught school two years. For the last sixteen years he had been ! in the employ of Heath Springs j ifr (Jo., as manager of their farm , ing interests in this and Kershaw county, which position he was! holding at the time of his death., He leaves to mourn his death one! sister, Mrs. Capt. John M. Ferry, and a nephew Mr. H. J. Reckhani and a neice, Mrs. W. M. IQooch. He leaves an estate of $'>,000 to $7,000, including $1,000 of life insurance. His re mains were interred Thursday evening at Camp creek Methodist church for which he had, for many years, been a member and an officer. Funeral services wore held at the church conducted by Rev.
