UXCISTKR ENTERPRISE. Pebliahed hvery Wednesday and baturda; BY . Thi - Enterprise Publishing - Compan; A. J. CLARK Idltot, One Year $1.00 go Months, 50 ct TKiue Month*. 25 ct In Advance. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 1900. If you want to see McSweenej elected governor do not fail tc .1 11 i rp I ? go to Hie pons next x uesutvy and vote for him. The "scratching" that we heard and read so much about before the primary did no! amount to much. Senator Tillman got over 72,000 votes out of about 90,000 polled in the State. The vote polled in this couu? ty at the recent primary was the largest ever cast?2,443, The vote at the Lancaster boa surpassed all previous records, 009 having been polled. Do not fail to vote next Tuesday. A large portion of Mc Sweeney's vote is from the country, and if the}' do not turr out in full, there is some doubl about the result. With a full vote there is no doubt about it The logical thing to expect is that McSweeney will get tht vote that went to Gary and tc Patterson. When the votes an counted it will be seen that tliej did go to McSweeney. In the recent primary hen the dispensary vote aggregatec 1,210 against 1,042 for prohibi tion, assuming what we thin! is a fact, that the votes tha went to Gary and Pattersor were dispensary votes. A community is said to hav< prohibition whenever there is no liquor sold in that commu nity by sanction of law, except fer sncraraental. medicinal and scientific purposes. This com munity can close the doors ol the dispensary by their petition, niid then we will have prohibition. Here is the way The State, the champion of the prohibition movement talks about the matter : Two days before the primary "The State" said it was supporting "prohibition" and Col. Hoyt with the hope that after giving that craze a trial the people would be so disgusted they would demand high license. No man who has the 1 ' ~ 4. ~ 4.? ^ / lb . O 4. _ 4. - _ 4. nrsi interests oi iiu; otnie ai heart ought to countenance such.?Ex. The concensus of opinion is that Hoyt polled his strength in this county in the first primary, and that McSweeney will lead in the second. If all those who prefer the dispensary to Gonzales' prohibition will turn out and vote McSweeney will get a big majority in this county. We have heard a number of those who supported Gary in the first primary say they were for McSweeney in the second, and that will be the case all over the county and all over the State. If you believe the dispensarj is the best solution of the whis key question, vote for McSwee ney next Tuesday. He stand? for the dispensary. If you wanl prohibition you can get thai iin/1 ar flto nt*Aur>ti f 1 nur A 11 uuuvi nio j/icncui' i *v >? /in yut have to do is to get a majorit} of the freehold voters to sigr a petition to remove the dis pensary out of this county anri it will be moved. So if yoi: want prohibition it is withir eaey grasp under the present law. Then vote for McSweenej who represents the dispensarj idea. Deranromonta of Manatrual runftlom pro riuo? Mlaearrlafo Stmrass* Squaw Vtu? Wto< or Tabiota on'raet tbe doranjromonia L nmmmm If you believe in prohibition and think that with such leaders as The State whose avowed 1 purpose is to get the dispensary out of tho way with the hope f that two years hence tho voters would be disgusted with pro hibition and would turn to high license, then vote for prohibi* tion. We do not believe they would liavo prohibition if they carried for Hoyt, for the man: ifest reason that the real leaders of the niavemeut do not want prohibition, and therefore we ? shall vote for the dispersary r candidates. r To prevent sotisntnptlon quickly euro throat au<} luna troubles with One Minute CouRhCure. Crawford Bros. d-w s The towns of Rock Hill and Yorkville have never had a dis" pensary. They prefer the pro* hibition feature of the dispen. sary law. At one time the village _ # rn? i_ .i n c 5 oi nrzan on tno { >. cv u. ft. ( road had a dispensary, but upon a petition of the freehold voters of that community the dispensary was closed up and discon. tinued. The same thing can be , done hero, if the people want it. Then would that not be prohibition ? The same can be done ' at Kershaw, if the people want > it. Then would not Lancaster county have prohibition? Most assuredly it would.
