A military company was organized in the court house Thursday night, 00 strong, by the election of the lollowing officers: Dr. J. E. Poore, captain; J. F. Williams, first lieutenant; J. F. Mackey, Jr., second lieutenant; W. G. Oureton, orderly seargeant; W. P. Davi?7 second seargeant; A. W. Chance, Roy Cunningham, Perry Mackey, Will Oloyd, E. W. Sistare and E M. Bennett, cor porals. Morton's grain Thursday afternoon, sparks set fire to Mr, Morton's barn and in a Rhort while the entire structure was re dticed to ashes, together with his crib tnd (>0 bushels of corn and a small outhouse, his wagon and gears and all his straw and fodder. Two lino mules belonging to Mr. Floyd were burned in the stalls. Mr. llorton sustains a heavy loss by this lire, probably not less than $1,000 or $1/200, and bo had no insurance.
