Reference was made in Saturday's Enterprise to a proposition made to the farmers by Kershaw's cotton buyers ; but vre were then unable to ascertain the nature of the proposition. It was as follows : That the buyers would place an inspector at the platform, and that he would sample the cotton after it was weighed. If the cotton was ^et the weigher and the inspector were to agree as to the amount of water in it. If they could not agree and if the farmer was unable to furnish the dry weights, the cotton was then to he set aside till it dried, and it was then to be reweighed. The proposition was rejected.
