Died From Effects of Hi* Wound.
Mr. Croxton Small, of the Primus
neighborhood, while cutting
wood recently let his axe slip,
cutting a severe gash in his leg
just below the knee, died .'from

The sad news was received on last .
Tuesday of the death the night before
of Mis-; Mary Moore, sister of Dr. (
Moore and Rev. Chalmers Moore,
pastor of the Presbyterian church at (
this place. It was a shock to every- y
one, as it was entirely unexpected.
Miss Moore was a thoroughly good
young woman, and was loved by all
who knew her. r
About a year ago she received an *
appointment from the I'nited States I ]
government to teach in the Indian
schools, for which work she had espe- (
cially prepared herself. She taught,
last year in Montana, but on account *
of the severity of the climate, got a
transfer this year to Oklahoma Terri- t
tory, where she was teachinc in tim -
Indian schools when she died. Her
family did not know she was sick until ?
they received the telegram saying she
was dead.
Besides her two brothers. Miss
Moore leaves an aged mother to
mourn her untimely death. Much >
sympathy is felt for these in their
terrible atlliction.
Mr. and Mrs. 1>. X. Maekey and their {
daughter, Miss Maggie, formerly of
Lancaster, have moved here. We ex- (
tend to them a cordial welcome. i ,
