ME~TEOROLOoIcAL. - The different sections of the county, as far as ascer tainxed, have beeir visited by copious showers which wvero very much need ed.- In some sections these showvers were accomp'anied by hail and scvere winid. In the neighborhood of Glad den's Grove the hail stones were -an inch and a half in diameter, and were precipitated with such force as to peal the bark entirely from the trees, and the face of the ear'th was strewn with tender limbs and leaves broken off by the storm. Mr. J. 0. Mobley had seven tenant houses bldwn down. On Ithe morning after the storm, which occurred Friday pevening, fill stones were lying in piles in the public road Iin some places six inc~hes deep. The storm was also very severe at Ridge way, and much damage done to fenc ing and houses. A correspondent, describing the storm, says: "Our little rose beds in the yard, sad as was the spectacle p resented by their bare stems, were beautiful to behold, with the rich grebn leaves and various colored roses embedded iu bright crystals." In the track of the hall-storm growing crops were unch damaged and fields of wheat entirely destroyed. A CARD. Messrs. Editors; Mr. W. II. This, I think. covers the ground of our interview so far as C e Mr. K.'s card has made it a matter of public interest, and I would close here i but I cannot alloiw to pass unnoticed a Mr. K.'s statement, to wit: "I was lb aplproachbed on the (lay in question by I Mr. G. who made such a proposition,~ to which I posisivoly declined to 1 accede." I call upon Mr. K. to state, whether or not I have correctly de tailed the language of our interview as given above, and if so, the public can (1ecide as to whether I made the,alleg- e ed.proposition.
